When you think of a family-friendly car, a minivan probably comes to mind. Things have changed, though, and there are lots of great transportation alternatives available. At Sallas Auto Repair, we understand that there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all, family-friendly car. So, if your family is in the market for a new family-friendly car, make sure to check out our list of car solutions.
Looking for something that doesn’t quite scream “family car?” A family-friendly sedan may be the perfect car solution for your family. When we began our search for the best family-friendly cars, we looked to the industry experts. It was no surprise to us that Consumer Reports named the new-generation Honda Accord as one of the best sedans in its class. Generally, Hondas are reliable, low-maintenance cars. What’s so special about this model? This sedan really shines because of its spacious interior, superior handling, and excellent crash-test results.
And when it comes to fuel efficiency, the Honda Accord isn’t the best option on the market. It’s certainly not bad, though. “The four-cylinder engine is smoother than some V6 engines and it got 23 mpg overall. The V6 model is very quick and got 21 mpg,” reported Consumer Reports. So, if you’re looking for something sportier, the V6 may be the better option for you, as there’s only an approximately 2-mpg difference between it and the four-cylinder model. Fuel efficiency aside, the Honda Accord is still an attractive and reliable family-friendly car.
Wagon-style cars aren’t just reserved for the cross-country explorers of the world! In fact, many are best suited as family cars. When it comes to wagons, The Outback takes the cake. Subaru has long been an industry leader of wagon-style vehicles. But what makes this model so special? This model earned major points for its first-class, four-wheel drive, versatility and spacious interior, and excellent handling. And when it comes to fuel efficiency, Consumer Reports says, “…the 250-hp turbocharged four-cylinder delivers even better performance but does not hurt fuel economy.” These wagons are made for the outdoors, so if your family enjoys time in the wilderness, you’ve found your match. There’s plenty of room for camping gear, bicycles, and the whole family in this one-of-a-kind, family-friendly wagon.
Family-Friendly Compact SUV
If you’re looking for a smaller-sized SUV, look no further than the Toyota RAV4. This small SUV really packs some punch! With the option of third-row seating, you can seat almost as many people as a normal SUV in a fraction of the space. And, no, this doesn’t mean your family will be packed like sardines. There’s just enough space for a comfortable ride inside of this vehicle. Want to know the real game-changer? Consumer Reports raves that ,“The four-cylinder version gets the best fuel economy of any automatic, non-hybrid SUV we’ve tested.” Sound too good to be true? We dare you to compare it with other family-friendly car models on the market.
At Sallas Auto Repair, we understand the importance of driving a car that satisfies your family’s space needs and your personal style, too.
