David Dereszynski“Aloha” is how to properly greet our Hawaiian-native mechanic David Dereszynski. David joined the Sallas team in April 2009 when he moved to Missouri and has worked in the auto industry for 22 years. From lawn mowers to excavators and bulldozers, David can fix just about anything. With a positive attitude and a personal challenge to do each job correctly the first time, David’s commitment to our company brings us customer trust and loyalty. Known as “DSki” to many of his Navy buddies who couldn’t pronounce his last name, when he’s not fixing cars David is usually cycling, riding his motorcycle or hanging out with his family. |

Robert MorseRobert Morse, or should we say “Supertech” is one of our ASE Master Certified Technicians at Sallas Auto Repair. Robert is an integral member of the Sallas Auto Repair team. His nickname around the shop is fitting, as he is one of the most knowledgeable, speedy, efficient and experienced technicians in the world. As a 16-year-old, Robert worked at a car lot in Santa Cruz, CA and then for Ford Motor Company and other auto repair shops. In his spare time, Robert trades working on cars for working on computers and hangs out with his family. His guarantee to Sallas customers is that when he works on their vehicle, it leaves the shop in top shape. |

Barry DeggesIt doesn’t take much to see that Service Advisor Barry Degges loves his job at Sallas Auto Repair. A Christian atmosphere and an honest and trustworthy team has made Barry one of our most dedicated staff members. Barry has worked in the auto industry for 30 years after getting his feet wet as a gas jockey at a Westport station in 1982. Barry worked under the hood as a ASE Certified Master Technician for 20 years before transitioning as a service manager five years ago. He stays late. He comes in early. He’ll even help a customer on the weekends. If there’s a need, we can count on Barry. When Barry’s not at the shop, he loves hanging out with his family, watching his kids play sports and riding jet skis and 4-wheelers at the Lake of Ozarks. |

Melissa PeoplesMelissa Peoples is a people person – and not just because it’s her name. She’s the friendly voice that picks up the phone when you call our Kansas City Sallas Auto Repair location. Melissa provides each customer with down-to-earth explanations and friendly advise. As a female in our shop, we appreciate her perspective. (She’s learned quickly on the job and can explain anything to customers in a way they will understand.) She’s also thorough and a fabulous multi-tasker. As a mom of three boys, she knows how to stay on her toes and cook a killer breakfast (which you might get a bite of if you come on the right day.) Melissa comes to work with a smile on her face, feeling blessed and proud that she works for a company, and especially a repair business, with honesty and integrity. |

Zach SchellerZach Scheller is our good ‘ol country boy around the Sallas Auto Repair shop. Born in St. Louis, Zach came to Kansas City several years ago and joined the Sallas team in 2009. Trained in auto mechanics in high school and college, Zach has always had an interest in cars. Each customer who drives away in a vehicle repaired by Zach appreciates his thoroughness and attention to detail. He’s a positive guy who brings a good attitude, timely joke and a cowboy hat to work each day. |

David McCalman IIIA commitment to bring a smile to everyone’s face at least once each day endears our Sallas team to David McCalman. Nicknamed “Prozak” around the shop, David’s known to our team for his off-wall attitude and humor. To our customers, David’s work shines through his quality repair jobs and commitment to honor the Sallas family atmosphere. Trained at the Nashville Auto Diesel College (NADC), David’s love for cars only continues to grow as he works at Sallas. As a guy who enjoys hands-on hobbies, when he’s not fixing customer vehicles, he can be found working on his ’95 Civic and his new house. |

Eric MuehlbachEric Muehlbach is Sallas Auto’s designated driver … or should we say professional porter. Eric allows us to offer the best customer service of any Kansas City auto repair shop by complementary rides to/from work and courtesy vehicle pickups and drop-offs. Eric attributes his success at Sallas to his boyish charm and scholarly insight. He enjoys working with the team and seeing a successful business in operation. Working for Sallas as a porter is only one way Eric stays busy; he also enjoys playing sports and exercising, reading a great book and watching movies. |

Jill WestJill West is Sallas with a smile. It could be because she’s a grandma of a precious four-year-old. Or that she loves working on her lawn. Or, it could be because she has a ton of fun working at Sallas Auto Repair. With over 20 years of experience in the administrative business, Jill keeps all of our “t’s” crossed and “i’s” dotted. She’s a utility player, as she can be found answering the phone, processing paperwork or even giving customers a ride. Jill carries our commitment to really care for each customer. She’s always pleasant, smiling and ready to listen to whatever they have to say. |

Brian PerryBrian Perry keeps it plain and simple. He gives each customer a clean car and fresh oil each time they visit our Kansas City Auto Repair shop. Originally from Sibley, MO, Brian started working with us in mid-2011 to begin his career in the auto industry. As he continues his training, he performs oil changes and a 52-point inspection on each vehicle we service. Even after a few months, he’s part of the family and enjoys working at our shop. Becoming part of our family has been good training for him. He’s engaged and spends a lot of time with his fiancé. In addition to work and family, Brian likes to fish and go 4-wheeling in the country. |

Nick SallasNick Sallas had a dream, but instead of building a baseball field in green pastures, he set out to open an auto repair shop that provided excellent work and superior service. Native to Kansas City, he started Sallas Auto in 1993 and has grown the business into a successful two-location repair shop over the past 30 years. Nick’s always been a “car guy.” His training with GM, Goodyear, Honda, Ford, Chrysler, as well as his ASE Master Technician certification makes him one of the smartest guys in the business. Plus, he’s a great boss, too. Nick’s commitment to treat each staff member like family has led him to have one of the most committed teams of mechanics, many who’ve been with the company over 20 years. His family-like atmosphere transfers to his customers with his personal promise to treat each customer like family through respect and honesty. As a family man, Nick also loves spending time with his wife Carla, watching his kids play soccer and vacationing. |
